ARGH. i'm hungry

my fridge is overflowing in groceries :) it's a very beautiful sight.
there are mangoes, avocados, plums, and prosciutto. (along with many other things)

but i am sitting here, in the lobby of 15west at 2:34am working.
yes, i am working until 5am tonight. lucky me.

but i guess this is good since it finally gives me time to do a little update, which i know i haven't done in forever. but balancing three (and soon to be four) jobs ain't easy. especially when there's a hours worked limit of 40 hours a week :/

job number 1:
hall monitor
basically i have to stay up from 11am-5am and sit at one of the entrances/exits of the dorms and make sure that precollege kids aren't 1)returning after curfew or 2)escaping. so as my friend paul so nicely stated. i am like a watchdog. and even though the job may suck sometime, and really fuck up my sleep schedule. it is paying for my housing this summer, so therefore, it is totally worth the cost.

job number 2:
technician's assistant
all the major's here at risd have technicians who deal with all the, well, technical stuff in the department, so, as a textiles technician's assistant, we spent the first couple of weeks cleaning out the studios, reorganizing things, and basically just making sure everything would be clean and ready for next year. and now, we're doing more prep work. like rescreening the silkscreen tables, mixing new dyes, and cleaning out the knitting machines. it's cool because i'm learning so much about the textiles department and how everything ie: the weaving and knitting machines work AND it is the highest paying job on campus with a $8.70 hourly wage, so therefore, it is totally worth that manual labor.

job number 3:
risd store
basically, it's retail, like working at a art supply store like dick blick's or michaels. except a bajillion times better. because, everyone is cool, cuz they are a risd student, EXCEPT FOR THE FUCKING PRECOLLEGE KIDS OMFGZ THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY FUCK FUCK FUCK. but that's another story for another time. and i get a 20% discount off everything. even the magazines. :) so it's totally worth it.

and possibly job number 4:
typeshop/book binding studio monitor
i had emailed suzi inquiring about whether or not she needed people to help out in the typeshop or the book binding studio abou a month ago, and she finally replies yesterday that she would love the help. so i have asked her to send me the hours and i'm gonna see if i can fit them in anywhere. because not only would the job be awesome and high paying, i would also start to network within my department.

so damn, all four jobs are important to me.
risd limits that i can only work a combined amount of hours within all my jobs of 40 hours. i wonder if they limit how many jobs i can have at one time :P this means, on pay day, i'll get 4 different paychecks. haha, nice.

lovely. just lovely.
